gamejam 2-minutes-to-midnight submission
the game was submitted close to midnight in this current state. the basic idea of the game was to have a shooter in a 2D bird-view maze, where the facing direction of the player "locks" once you press fire and unlocks again when you release it.
the game was coded during the last day of the jam because i had no real inspiration for a bigger or better game. the game is not really finished, but you can at least play it. you can shoot all the aliens (there is a counter in the top left), but nothing will happen after that. you can also die. so apart from having no ending sequence (which is actually very realistic - just imagine yourself in this situation; you shoot all the aliens in an abandoned area of walls and trees, and once you're done, nothing would happen in real-life as well. isn't it enough to simply have survived? just enjoy your victory!), the game is technically playable.
since it's coded in javascript, you can view the source code by right-clicking into the browser, then select "view source" (you should probably do this in the standalone version, which can be found here: www.drwuro.com/zeha/cpajam ).
the code is not perfect as it was rushed together a bit, i might do a clean-up later and put it on github or so.
gameplay is also not entirely perfect, as the "direction locking" mechanism has a few bugs/glitches. i might rework that as well in the future.
