This game was created during Mid-Jam 2020, where the chosen topic was "Teleportation".

How does teleportation work? It's quite easy to explain. There is an invisible teleportation vortex, which carries the subject to its destination. In this game, YOU are the teleporter. Whenever a person enters, your job is to recreate the vortex path using your arrow keys as quick as possible.

The vortex path is displayed on the screen for you to memorize while the person walks towards the teleporter. Once he enters, the path disappears and you have to quickly smash the arrow keys according to the path (left/right/up/down). Please note that you shouldn't try to accomplish this in realtime (as the teleported person is gliding along the path), instead try to do it much quicker than that. If you're too slow, the teleportation process fails, resulting in the death of the person. So make sure you do a good job!

Note: The game might be a bit tricky to get used to, so don't give up too early :)

There are 8 screens to master. Have fun!

The game was made with PICO-8

Note: A C64 version has been published here

fun concept, but the levels were way too easy

thanks :) you can try the C64 conversion, it's harder...

Haha great challenge, it's very gratifying to beat each level. im currently at level 5 xD

Hey, showing the pressed keys on the bottom (like your C64 version) is a great visual feedback to inform what and when is pressed. just say it can be useful here too

yes i thought the arrows might at least explain to the player who hasn't played before what is happening :) because that's the main problem with the game :D

yes maybe i should add that here too...

it's really fun but really hard. so hard i didn't get past the second level....

still though, really original idea that is fun to mess around with!

HAHA! Love the idea, but jeez!!! SO HARD!
It took me about 15 to 20 attempts to do the first screen :P
I really like the idea though and the sound suits it too.

thanks a lot for your comment :D
i know what you mean, to be honest i think the game is not that intuitive :D i hope people give it a try though. it's hard to explain in words what you have to do exactly but i think once you get it, you can actually play it :D

C64 version next?

hehe, maybe it's easier to be played with a joystick? ;)
it shouldn't be too hard to port, however i'm still struggling a bit with the "unintuitive" part ;)
maybe there should be an easy/"practice" mode available...

This is way too hard :) Btw, it took me a while to figure out that the 'Z'  key starts the game, so maybe you want to put that in the game's description.

oh yes, that's the PICO-8 fire button but I will add it into my description ;)

it took me a while to master all the screens by myself, but it is possible ;) the more you try, the better you remember the early screens' patterns ;)
